As part of our Benn-Ibler Workshop series, we are co-hosting an AI workshop for Law as well as Law/Business students together with Cybly, LawFinder and the Department of Public Law at the University of Salzburg. The focus is on artificial intelligence: how it works, what it can do, where its limits lie and practical use cases specifically for Law as well as Law/Business students.
Introduction
Benn-Ibler, together with Cybly, LawFinder and the Department of Public Law of the University of Salzburg , invites Law as well as Law/Business students to an AI workshop. Key topics include the fundamentals of artificial intelligence: its capabilities and limitations, responsible and secure use, and concrete use cases tailored to students.
Topic
Artificial intelligence has long become part of everyday student life. Yet its potential often goes untapped. AI is frequently tried out, but rarely truly understood or applied with intention.
Those who understand how AI tools work — and where they reach their limits — can use them effectively, work with greater precision and efficiency, and gain a meaningful advantage. For aspiring lawyers, confident and informed use of AI is increasingly becoming a relevant factor in career development and professional positioning.
This event addresses exactly the gap that academic programmes often leave open.
The workshop focuses on:
- A practical understanding of AI in the legal context
- Responsible and secure use of AI and data
- Concrete examples from both academic and professional practice
- Candid insight into how AI is actually used in legal workflows
- Questions from a student and practitioner perspective
- Live testing of a legal AI tool
The goal is to provide a realistic picture of AI and demonstrate the competencies that will matter going forward.
This event is aimed at Law as well as Law/Business students.
Agenda
- Welcome and introduction
- 45-minute presentation and workshop, followed by a Q&A
- Networking with drinks and light refreshments
