Dr. Thomas Ruhm, LL.M.

After working as Assistance Professor at the University of Vienna and for reputable international law firms in Austria and abroad, Thomas Ruhm joined Benn-Ibler in 2010. He is mainly focused on Corporate / M&A Transactions, specialising in (cross-border) Private Equity and Corporate Finance. He was involved in numerous multi-jurisdictional M&A, Private Equity and Finance transactions representing both purchasers and sellers as well as acting as transaction advisor. Thomas Ruhm has a strong expertise in heading multi-jurisdictional transaction teams, in particular in the CEE region.

Thomas Ruhm has graduated with a Doctor Juris at the University of Vienna and a Master of Laws (Banking and Financial Regulation) at the London School of Economics (LSE). Thomas Ruhm is lecturer for commercial and company law at the University of Vienna and holds regularly lectures at conferences and various business societies. Thomas is registered in the Austrian Bar since 2007 and member of the International Arbitral Centre of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (VIAC Austrian Chamber of Commerce). Thomas is the author of numerous articles on business law and legal developments in reputable law journals and publications and is editor of the Journal for Financial Markets Law (ZFR, LexisNexis). He is fluent in German and English and also speaks French.
